Why I Built SafeLineCare

In 2022, I watched my grandparents struggle.

Not with anything dramatic. Just the small, daily friction of living in a world that assumes everyone knows how to navigate a smartphone. Resetting a password. Figuring out why the TV wasn't showing their streaming service. Understanding whether that email was real or a scam.

They're smart, capable people. But technology wasn't built with them in mind. And every time something went wrong, they had to wait for someone in the family to help. Or worse, they'd try to figure it out alone and end up more confused, more frustrated, or in some cases, at risk.

That's when I founded StopTheScam.

I'd been working in tech for over a decade at that point, and I'd seen how powerful technology could be when it was built with intention. I wanted to build something that actually mattered. Something that could protect the people who needed it most. StopTheScam started as a way to help seniors avoid the scams that target them relentlessly: the fake calls, the phishing emails, the pop-ups designed to terrify and deceive.

But the more I worked on that problem, the more I realized something: scam protection was only part of the picture.

The deeper issue wasn't just fraud. It was isolation. It was the feeling of being left behind by technology. It was the anxiety of not knowing who to call when something stopped working.

My grandparents didn't just need software to block scammers. They needed someone to call.

That's why I built SafeLineCare.

SafeLineCare is a dedicated tech support line for aging parents. Patient, jargon-free, and designed for people who didn't grow up with computers in their pockets. When your mom can't figure out why her email isn't working, she calls us. When your dad gets a suspicious pop-up and doesn't know if it's real, he calls us. And if the issue needs a real person, we're there.

It's built on everything I learned from StopTheScam: that protecting seniors isn't just about blocking threats. It's about giving them confidence, independence, and someone in their corner.

I believe our parents and grandparents deserve better than being made to feel like a burden every time they need help with technology. They built lives, raised families, worked for decades. They shouldn't have to feel helpless because the world moved faster than anyone expected.

SafeLineCare is my answer to that.

If you've ever been the unofficial IT department for your family, if you've ever felt guilty for not picking up the phone, or exhausted from explaining the same thing for the fifth time, I built this for you, too. Because you shouldn't have to choose between your own life and being there for your parents.

Now there's someone else they can call.
